Folkzine: The Freedumb X-pedition 7"
Simply fantastic! It's like a sucker punch to the face! The energy, the drive, the riffing, the melodies, the vocals... I could go on and on! X-pedition is everything and way beyond what I had hoped for after hearing Freedumb's demo recordings. Sure, something still ain't right about the reverb but that doesn't really matter. Just crank the volume up and enjoy these five excellent tracks of raw old school hardcore, d-beat and punk rock. There's something here that's hard to describe other than passion. You can feel it in the beats and hear it in the lyrics. Freedumb is one of those bands, that reminds you that on ten bad bands there's always a good one that stands out from the rest. Inspiring you, yet at the same time kicking you around a bit with a big fat smile on their lips.
Profane Existence: The Freedumb X-pedition 7"
An intense out-pouring of raw 80's Norwegian hardcore / punk that brings
back warm memories of the standard-setting first SO MUCH HATE LP. These six tracks are a carefully blended mixture of raw, d-beat punk, well-crafted melodies, powerful breakdowns, and rapid-fire tempo changes. The vocals are angrily screamed political messages aimed at toppling all forms of tyranny. Of course, the recording has near-perfect production and the packaging is decent. These are hand-numbered from an edition of only 500!
No Front Teeth: The Freedumb X-pedition 7"
Fast and raw political hardcore punk from Norway that's got a real old school bite. The whole record looks like it was released in the 80s right from the cover, the folded inlay and the music and that gets huge plus points from me! Punk rock just ain't like this anymore. You got to listen to hundreds of records before you hear any soul, any passion, any anything. It's all so by-the-numbers these days that when a record like this one spins, you fucking salute it... the reaction is instant. If you're missing the enthusiasm in punk rock and wanna get it back then get this record, close your eyes and breathe it in and you're right back where you wanna be!
